New Holland TC30 Hydro 4x4, Gravely Zero Turn Mower
Ok, I'm getting pretty close to inking the deal on a new NH TC30 or TC29D. Both tractors can pick up the front of the machine by rolling the bucket down but cannot lift the machine with the lift cylinders. (I know that I must roll the bucket first to get enough travel on the lift cylinders). Still neither machine with 7308 loader can lift the machine. The dealer told me that the hydraulic pressure on both machines is 2133 psi. He sent the TC29D back into the shop with a tech and when it came back out it could lift the machine with the lift cylinders. He said he upped the pressure. OK, so heres the question, if I buy one of these machines is it a good idea to leave the pressure "upped" or is this a bad idea?

My 12 year old JD 670 can lift the front end with the loader arms..in fact, when unlatching the FEL, the Operator's Manual recomends it.
I should think your NH should do the same

Jerry,

The TC40D I have can lift the front using the FEL lift arms. Still kinda wish I had more lifting power, but would need another couple thousand pounds on the back to counter that lift capacity.

Jerry, I have the TC29D & 7308 loader and have never felt the need for more hyd. pressure. Last summer I spread about 7 truckloads of dirt & could easily lift a full bucket. However, the RPMs (1800 to 2200) at which I do bucket work I can lift the front end with the lift cylinders. My TC is a late 1999 model.

I can lift the front wheels with the lift cylinders on my TC 29D. It is a late 2001 model. I suspect there might be some variations in the factory relief pressure. Things like a MMM or weight on the 3pt hitch will affect your ability to lift. Also, take your foot off the brake so the tractor can move as the front lifts up.

I have a 1999 - 1720 4x4 & 7308 FEL, 55 hrs. The 1720 will not pick the front end off of the ground using the lift arms. I have had the dealer out to check the relief pressure which checked out to be in the 1700-1800 psi range. He basically told me that most 7308's will not pick up the tractor using the lift arms. I am thinking about raising the relief pressure, which I understand is pretty simple.
