When I first bought my JD 750, the salesman stated that if I adjusted a screw somewhere on the loader, I could increase the loader lift. I'm thinking it was on a valve somewhere and the only screw I notice is on the loader control itself. Can someone inform me on this?

I would go back to that salesman and have it done correctly if it's possible and you may not notice the difference

"loader lift", is that heigth or capacity? If capacity, before you go off and crank up the pressure to increase the lift capacity of the FEL, I'd spend some time figuring out can this be done and stay under the rated load capacity of the front end. Don't forget the load transfer factor. Wouldn't be too surprise if due to load transfer, for every lb in the bucket, the front axle sees 1.5lb.

I asked the same question about increasing my backhoe strength. Apparently there is a way but....a piece of advice was given to me that makes awhole lotta sense. I was told to buy a hydraulic gauge to check the existing pressure so if I did tinker with it I had a starting point. Furthermore, you would not want to exceed any design specs. I have the gauge ordered (Northern Industries) and when it gets here I am going to check my existing operating pressure compared to what it is supposed to be... whether I change it or not remains to be seen.

There is a long thread on here about increasing the pressure on a JD 790. I would imagine they adjust the same way using an inexpensive shim pack from the dealer. The discussion took place over a year ago. If you do a search, chances are you will find it.

The front axle on my JD750 started leaking about 3 months after I had a loader installed. I'd be careful about too much stress on that front axle.

Your dealer can hook you up and tell you what pressure you are at. You may be under normal pressure. I had an 855 JD that I had the dealer turn up to 10 percent over standard and it made a huge difference. Worked Great. He said he was comfortable doing it with that model of a tractor.

My problem with the dealer is that he is long out of business as I bought the tractor 23 years ago. The only other JD dealer around here isn't saying as he feels it too much of a liability issue or he's mad that I didn't purchase the tractor from him.

Just ask them what it is and what speck is and go from there. Shop time is around 70 here in ND.
