Sorry again for more simple questions. Since I have gone ahead with the move on a 2520 with fel and backhoe and mmm. I asked to have the 62D cutter with independent lift kit added to the unit. Now with the extra effort needed to mount a mmm on a 2520 with backhoe will adding an independent lift kit make it even more of a pain in the butt to take off the backhoe?

What are the advantages of a 62D cutter with independent lift kit vs. without?

Lastly does anyone really think John Deere will offer a solution to keep all 3 on the unit at once, fel, backhoe and 62D cutter? Will it be possible to find a solution without having to buy new add ons?

Thanks.

I guess that the Ind Lift will be a benefit if you take off the Bh and don't put the 3pt lift arms back on--then you can at least raise the mower deck if you put it on (the 3pt arms connect with a metal tab to lift the deck otherwise I think??). I honestly can't imagine mowing with the loader and BH on. You would have to go pretty slow to keep from getting bounced all over the place--that time would be better spent taking the loader and BH off before mowing. The independent lift isn't really independent--so if you leave the loader on you lose 1/2 the functions anyway.

JDSCAN , Think about what you are saying. if you mow with the loader and backhoe on. and add a 62 mmm. the machine will weigh around 4500 to 4600 pounds...:D after the first cut and a sharp turn or 2 , you wont haft to cut grass anymore. you will be reseeding.....:)
I think you need to back up and rethink that. to mow you want to make the machine as lite as possable. take all that crap off and just put the mmm on.
and mow til your heart is content......:p

Chris ;)

Chris2520 I was more interested in having all the pieces on the machine more from a storage point of view. I understand I am not going to cut the grass with fel , backhoe and mid mower. I was thinking more along the lines how good it would be to have everything on the machine for storage. I was also wondering if lift or no lift makes the job any different when taking off/on the backhoe.

When reading all the posts it seems the backhoe is a major pain in the butt to take off. I hope it is not that bad.

I cant give a honist answer on that. i have not taken my backhoe off yet.:(
but Duc and Gunmaker say that it only takes about a few min to take off and another few to put 3 point arms back on.:)

sorry for the misunderstanding. yes i guess for storage , haveing it all together would be ok. but that means you would still haft to take something off . to eather mow or do loader work.;)

Removing the BH and putting on or off the 3pt does take practice - just to get the feel of how it goes. Once you are comfortable, its fast.

Putting the Hoe back on took longer for me only once - you will find the subfram pivots and to align the sub frame with the mounts takes practice. What threw me off the first time was uneven ground, and the the position shifts over time (the BH) and the lines build pressure which you need to release, so it took a little time to re-balance things.
I now master it and it dosent matter how or where I drop it now - 10 minutes or less each time. another 10-15 minutes to add the 3pt arms or quick hitch.
