Hello everybody,
I know this thread is old but, I am the original poster and I still have the same problem.
My first problem was that the PTO would not engage on my 4500. I tried adjusting the clutch enough so that the PTO comes on but now, it slips in drive gears.
With only 590 hours, it seems soon to have to replace the clutch but, the guy who was buying it from me I think trashed it with running a bushhog that locked up because of no gear oil and, him just generally mistreating equipment.
First, any ideas about the above.
Secondly, if it needs a clutch, has anyone tried to break apart a tractor this big to replace the clutch? The $3000.00 or more price tag a shop charges plus getting to a place to do it just seems a bit much.
Thanks for any help,
Dave in NC
