info on avery tractor

I just inherited a 1946 avery model a tractor that's been in the family since the day it rolled off the lot. I was hoping that some you guys could point me to web sites where I can find out more info on it and a place where I can find tires and wheels to fit. the motor will run but I have a lot of work to do to get it back in shape. any help would be appreciated

BC you may have better luck with this question in the "Vintage Tractor" forum. Go to "Related equipment" and scroll down to "Vintage tractors" and plop it in there.

Tractordata.com has some info about Avery tractors. Don't know which model you have but check there.
You can check with Miller Tire if you know the size you need. Miller Tire is a member here. Wheels might be a little harder to find. If you can figure out the bolt pattern spacing you might be able to use similar wheels from a different tractor that fit the bolt pattern.

My 1951 Minneapolis Moline BF tractor is actually a B.F. (Benjamin Franklin) Avery model R. MM bought Avery in 1950 and since MM already had a model R in its lineup, the Avery model was changed to BF.

Your A has a 4-cyl Hercules engine. It probably is the same model as mine (IXB3SL). You can get parts from Hercano Propulsion

My engine was shot (no compression in any of the cylinders). A complete rebuild ($800 parts, $800 labor) was needed.

I'm nearly finished with the restoration. Need to install the hydraulics and do a little more on the wiring.
