I recently did my 7234 and ended up buying the Hy-tran. I think the cost was around $37-40 for a 5 Gal Pail, and I bought two pails. Another large equipment dealer that sold Cubs used that and the one I bought it from also sells Cubs so I figured it was a good choice. In my research, Kubota had two Hyd. Fluids, I think they were UDT and Super UDT. They both sounded like good fluids, the Super was better but quite pricey. I don’t have my manual with me but I think my tractor took around 27 quarts for the Tran/Rear End/Hydraulics. Fluid drains are the engine obviously, and I think there were two on the rear end, one on each side. I only had one large Hyd. Filter under the tractor/rear left side but you will have the Hyd. by your feet as well. You need to drain the front axle as well and it has drain bolts on the outboard side of the axle, 10 or 12 MM I can’t remember which. The filler for the axle is a large rubber plug on the right side, probably 1 ½” in diameter. The front axle takes a while to drain and you have to fill it fairly slow while it drains out to the ends of the axle. I think it had two bolts higher up on the end of the axles that you pulled out and when the fluid reached them you stopped filling. Be careful of the little gaskets on each plug. Some of them stay with the plug and others stick to the casing. I put down plenty of paper and a couple of pans. I always seem to make a mess and that is a lot of fluid. I also normally take my time and let it drain sometimes overnight so I get as much of the old fluid out. You should change the fuel filter as well, it is fairly cheap. If you need more specifics email me or do another post.
