Info on DC 29 DA

I have TC25D (same size as the DX29) that I use to mow my 2 acres without much problems. I do try to mow in different patterns to help reduce the ruts. I am not sure it helps. I have the R4s tires so turfs should be a little more friendly on your lawn. I think one of the biggest factors is your soil condition. My is mainly clay so it holds up to the heavier tractor.

You might want to look at the Case DX23 and DX26 (TC23 and TC26 in the New Holland line). They are a smaller sized tractor that will work with a 60" MMM.

Are the R-4 tires the ones that look like tires on a backhoe? I have a friend that has a 21 horse Kabota and says those tires aren’t very good on hillsides. He wasn’t sure about turf tires. He has made me a little leery of NH or Case in my situation. He said his dad traded a 35 horse Kabota for a NH TC 40 and is disappointed at the lack of power.

R4 are the ones that look like tires on most backhoes. And yes they are not the best on hills, but they are better than turfs on hills.

As far as Kubota having more power than the New Holland, I don't believe it. If he is comparing a standard transmission versus a hydro then yes you would see a difference. But Hydro to Hydro or gear to gear you should not be able to tell the difference.

Ask him to explain 'lack of power'. That's such a general statement it's worthless. How did he notice this 'lack of power'? What was he trying to do and couldn't? Which model Kubota, the L3400? That's the only one with 35 hp and the TC40 beats the L3400 in both engine hp (34.7 vs 40) and PTO hp (35 vs 29). The TC40 has a bigger main hyd pump (9.8 gpm vs 6.3). Better 3ph (2,330 lb vs 1435) and it's heavier (3405 vs 2403).

He can’t remember the number on the Kubota. It was his dad’s. His dad traded last year. Said the 84” finishing mower will pull the TC 40 down in tall grass. The Kubota would smoke the belts if the grass was too tall. Both tractors were the syncromesh with shuttle shift. He has a 21 horse Kubota with a 5-foot finish mower on the back. With an 18 horse Briggs running a 5-foot finish mower attached to the tractor and the rear finish mower. He can get about a 9-foot cut. It’s a wild looking setup.

You might want to call Bevins J/D tractor in Georgetown. I looked at a nice barely used 99 N/H 1720 4wd w/ 7108 loader and RM59 mower had 244 hrs on it ALL FOR $10,000.

They also have a new Case DX33 4x4 HST W/1hr 10,500.

Right beside bevins is Giles equip Is a new holland dealer TC21,24,&29 IN STOCK WITH 0% for 36months.

All these are compacts and have mmm pto for them

I dont got #'s handy...But i would jump at the used 99 N/H w/ loader ...NICE. Ask for Rodney

Yep. 1 hour. Guy won it as a prize, but does not want it. But it is $12500 for just the tractor. Still that's about $3000 to $3500 off a new one. If I take it, at least I know I can get a rear discharge mower for it.
