I have TC25D (same size as the DX29) that I use to mow my 2 acres without much problems. I do try to mow in different patterns to help reduce the ruts. I am not sure it helps. I have the R4s tires so turfs should be a little more friendly on your lawn. I think one of the biggest factors is your soil condition. My is mainly clay so it holds up to the heavier tractor.
You might want to look at the Case DX23 and DX26 (TC23 and TC26 in the New Holland line). They are a smaller sized tractor that will work with a 60" MMM.
