Hi all. Yesterday I purchased a 1715 with FEL, new woods scraper blade, and new woods landscape rake. At $8800, I couldn't pass it up. It is a '96 in excellent shape with 700 hours.

My question is, I haven't found much info on the tractor. I know it was made from '93 to '96, and some other general information. I have found quite a bit more info on the 1720. What is the differences between the 1715 and 1720? Are there any known issues with this tractor? Anybody have one of these and want to share any opinions?

This is the first tractor I have owned, however I grew up with a JD 850 and a JD 955 of my fathers. I purchased this tractor for light landscaping (will be building new house in the fall), and knocking down a 15 acre field a couple of times per year. Thanks for any information anyone can offer.

Jon,

It's my understanding that the 1715 and 1725 were economy versions I assume based on the 1710 and 1720. Similar to what the TC30 is today. They are fine tractors, just missing a few of the bells and whistles. I had a 1710 for quite a few years and worked it hard before trading for my 2120. I have not heard of problems with the 1715. Enjoy.
