There's a local listing for a New Holland PTO chipper that I'm interested in. Spoke with the owner and he said its a model 800. I can't find any info out there, can anyone help me out? Owner says chipper ran well last time they used it but that was a couple of years ago and its been sitting outside. He said he'd be happy to go over it with me with a grease gun and then fire it up. He's not asking much for it, so I'm very interested.
I've seen some old chippers..... but nothing like that. Looks like a chuck & duck, drum style chipper made to run off a PTO. I'd say if it's cheap and operates..... go for it. Doesn't look like alot of safety gear on it, so keep kids and pets away when using it. I'd guess that bearings and such will be generic, and relatively easy to find if you needed to.
It looks like it was mounted on a baler frame using a similar PTO shaft routing as the baler. If it works as good as the old New Holland baler then you should have a great chipper for years.
