Information about Ford 1900 tractor

Hi everyone, I am bidding on a Ford 1900 tractor with a 5 shredder and a 5 box blade in a local auction. The tractor has under 400 hours and is in pretty good shape. It is being auctioned from my citys public works dept. I know some of the guys who work there and have used the tractor and they say the only issue is the brakes stick if it sets up a while. Any here have any experience with this model? So what is the Good the bad and ugly that I need to know?

The Ford 1900 was built between 1979 and 1983. I would question the 'under 400 hours'...it has likely turned-over or the hour-meter is bad for a 35+ year old tractor.
My Ford/NH 1920 has been a solid machine. Electrical wiring has been problematic but mechanical drive train is solid. Parts are available from Messick's and other online sources for my 1920 and you should check parts availability for the 1900.

I too have a Ford/NH 1920, and agree that parts seem to be reasonably available.
I believe that parts are more problematic for the earlier 1900 series.
I too would SERIOUSLY doubt the 400 hours. Probably more like 1400 hours, or perhaps even 2400 hours.

I agree about the hours, definitely has had the tac-hour meter replaced at some time.
I am going tomorrow morning to inspect the tractor before bidding on it. I know the guys at the public work works department and know they are really good at doing maintenance. I will ask for to see the service records and hopefully find out when the meter was replaced.
