Had the motor rebuilt and now reassembling on this '98 1920. For timing the injector pump, the manual says to use a spill timing method but we can't get it to definitively say how many shims we need. Shims are used stand off the pump from the cam lobes to open and close fuel to each injector at xx degrees BTDC etc...does anyone have any tricks on timing the pump? If we start with midway on the shim packs would that work? We just can't get the fuel to shut off completely during the spill timing procedure laid out in the manual. Any thoughts, tips, suggestions and help appreciated.
