For a year old Kubota L 48 TLB, I was quoted one dollar per thoudand per year, how does this sound or is it high/low?

Are you sure?

For my Commercial Inland Marine policy for the B2710 and attachments I pay $15 per $1000 of declared value. Same for when I added my dozer. This is from Peerless.

I know the rates are different depending on the type of Inland Marine policy you get with the commercial being the highest but the coverage and what they will pay for is also much better.

Make sure it's "all risk" or "all perils" coverage, but if so that seems to be a pretty good price. If I recall I'm paying about $3 per thousand per year on my 'personal' inland marine policy, which is on the low end of what folks have posted here in the past.

A more desirable and comprehensive 'commercial' inland marine policy is considerably more expensive as per MadReferee's note.

I'll have to ask some more questions as he needs the serial numbers anyway... This particular agent has treated us very well... He did tell me that most can pay 3 to 5 per thousand declared value.

We are paying $150 annually for non-commerical coverage on $95,000 worth of tractor equipment, including liability and theft on our property.

Compare coverages for the commercial and non-commercial policies. With an L48 you may need some of the coverages that the commercial policy affords.

For example, my policy covers extraction if I roll the tractor or dozer in the woods, even it it means bringing in a D9 to clear a way for the HD wrecker to get in (big bucks here). It also covers fuel spill cleanup if any fuel happened to get into the creek as a result of the rollover (even bigger bucks /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif). Rental equipment is also covered along with paying for any rental equipment I may have to use while my tractor is being repaired.

You get what you pay for.

Well,
the agent said it was a personal policy, however, it is "all risks", fire, theft, vandalism, being trailered, parked or otherwise,... Has a 250.00 deductable across the board, and covers some other issues that he will send to me in print. Total bill will be 380.00

LarryRB,

I have insurance through the NC Farm Bureau.

This is what I was quote I receive a few months ago.

The price is
$500 deductible - $.60 per $100
$1000 deductible- $.57 per $100
$2500 deductible- $.50 per $100

The policy covers if I roll the tractor, theft, fire, etc. Its not a commercial policy.

Later,
Dan

Like anything else, a lot depends on where you live and this dictates what the charges will be. Yesterday, the agent was telling me that comparing compact tractors and their various implements,,, Florida is the number one for low cost.. What I would pay for 38.000 here, would get 138,000 there... Mass is another system because the insurance companies HAVE to charge a certain minimum rate, regardless of any other factor.. We lived in Mass 25 years and I know that was fact. So,, for what is available to me, the coverage offered, I get it this morning. 380 for 38,000 in value.. I have talked to others with tractors in CT, nad it seems they are paying much more that I was quoted, so, I'll go with this and at least have some coverage....
