Can anyone post a pick of the Kubota Inline engine heater. I just bought one and want to see if its the same type. My concern is the heater housing has no way to circulate the water throughout the block.

Here is a picture of the heater housing itself which goes inline. The housing says it needs specific hose lengths and also specific inclines until it gets to the motor to operate properly. I assume this is not the kubota brand heater and was wondering what there heater looks like.

If I am not mistaken, Kubota makes a freeze plug heater. If you are going with an external heater, why don't you get a tank type circulating heater. JCW has them in their catalog.

For inline heaters pick one that has the proper diameter for your hoze and the wattage you want. Make sure it is installed correctly for flow direction and it may also require a specific vertical orientation.
Not to worry about heating. It circulates by convection and will do just as well as the ones set into the block.

I have one of those tank type heaters like JCW sells. It gave me a problem in the summer because it doesn't have the check ball in it. Without the ball it allows coolant to go in the wrong direction and the engine runs hotter. No problem in the winter but summer it runs about hotter. I added a small ball valve to shut off the flow from the block port in the summer.
I like this type of tank heater with the ball check. http://www.usahardware.com/inet/shop/item/08130/icn/20-968610/five_star/12100.htm Plumb it in from the block port to the inlet of the heater and the outlet of the heater to the port on the water manifold port right behind the thermostat. Heats the engine head up fast.
