Inner fenders coming loose.

My 20 car hauler needs a bit of work. The inner fenders have come loose. They are just spot welded to the side of the trailer and the inside of the fender. I tried to weld it back,but had to use caution to not burn through the thin sheet metal.It did not hold. I am a poor welder and I know it but I wonder if there is a better or at least another way.

Right off the top - the only thing I've ever used is a spot welder. It can spot weld a threaded stud - small hole in inner fender and nut/washer/locktite. IDK - but you might be able to spot weld the inner fenders right to the outer fender. However - spot welding WILL leave a hot weld mark on the outside of the outer fender. Not an especially pleasing cosmetic situation.

Drill a few holes and use 1/4in stainless bolts, lock nuts and locktite

To do it right you’ll need to remove the exterior skin. I’m looking at my trailer right now. It has inner fenders. That is how I’d do it. Probably remove the interior ply too. What brand trailer
Is this anyway? That’s horrendous.

It is a Gatormade. I have had three trailers that have had the same problem. I take my tractor on and off up to 10 times a day when I am busy. I think the weight on the rear ramp bows the trailer a bit and that strain hits the fenders pretty hard. I have steps on the ramps to limit the movement but uneven ground is not always kind.
