Today my wife and I took a ride around the local area to,as we call it "see what the neighbors are doing"...:D....No,not being nosey, just seeing whats goin on in the neighborhood on a Sunday afternoon before I go back to work..
Anyway,as we were ridin around,I noticed an older Ford tractor sitting
out by one of my neighbors garage,I think it was a 62-64 2000 or 4000 A.P.
model.I only know this cause I have a poster in the shop of most of the common Ford tractors that were made.I've seen this thing before, but today i noticed it has what appears to be weights on the inside of the rear wheels.
Thats the "inner" inside of the rear wheels.Maybe they are common,or were common, but i've never seen them before today.Usually on something that old
they are on the outside, you know, easily removable.Or,is it possible that if you could'nt get enough weight on the outside, you could install these "inside" weights for a little more traction along with the standard outer weights???.....Or maybe some other reason????There were no weights on the outside of the wheels.
Anybody else seen these?

On my 2005 Mahindra 7520, I installed wheel weights on both the inside and outside. Just wanted to get as much weight on as I could without having the weights stick out too far. The first picture is not very good, but you can kind of see that there is not much room left after that weight is in there. ;)

I have wheel weights on my tractor, too. But, it never crossed my mind to mount them on the inside. That's not a bad idea. That way you could double up on the weight. How do the mounting bolts line up with both inside and outside weights on at once?

They just bolt together just like adding more on the outside, just that the rim happens to be in between.

I have a JD4020 with a 148 loader

I run my wheel weights on the inside as they dont seem to build up as much mud etc. On My rims its inside outside or both. I just have inners but also have filled tires

Also on my old Ford 3000 (sold) in the manual it also talks about both inner and outer weights.
