Today I put the BH back on for the first time. I was prepared (in my mind) for it to take a while and be a pain. Man was I pleasently surprised at how easy it went back on. I backed the tractor over the BH and was bit off. Lined it up best I could and hooked up the Hyd lines, raised it up enough to get the back plate to engage. The front atachements points where off just a bit and I was able to nudge the boom to move them into position. Backed the tractor up to slide into the plate and that was it. Got off and installed the two pins and she was ready to go. Again I was please at how well it went.

Then the fun began. I got to practice digging holes with it. Man is it sweet.

Just thought I'd share my experiance with mounting the BH.

Congrats Greg!

The first couple unmount/remounts take a little longer and then your off to the races. Sounds like you've figured it out right away.

A rainy weekend project waiting in the wings for me is to make a dolly for my BH. Then it will really be a quick mount/dismount.

glad your BH uploading went well, I just picked up a used Bush hog BH that has the frame mount too. I've had to mount the front plates that connects to 4 of the 6 bolts that the 16la loader attaches too.

But I have a sticking problem in getting my lower 3pt arms off. The pins that attaches it to the tractor, with the dog ears, are frozen pretty good and I haven't had any luck freeing them yet.

I've hit them with PB Blaster all weekend, and tonight I tried heating one a little with a propane torch. The problem is there's very little to grab the pin with. I've resorted to using a pry bar on the dog earand driving it as close to the pin as possible then appling a little leverage but no go. I've managed to pry the dog ear out about a 1/4" though, but the pin hasn't moved.
There's not enough room to try to put anything on the pin itself where the arm attaches. Not sure why NH didn't weld a 1 1/2" nut to the end of it so you could at least tourque it a little.

Any suggestions anyone?

My TC35DA was bought new in 2001 and is in very little rusted shape.

thanks
gary

Gary,
On the NH backhoe, you don't need to remove the 3pt arms. They "rest" inside the frame. You might check the Bush Hog installation manual, to see if yours is the same setup.

Maddogdriver, Yep, the dolly is on my "Too Do" list as soon as I get a building put up on the land. My wife and I have been clearing trees to get to the pond and looking at where we want the building.

It sure is fun to use the BH and I got a chance to dig some holes and dig out some stumps. My wife always gives me "the look" when I'm on the tractor because I've got that happy grin on....

Yeah, it's tough not to smile anytime you have an excuse to get some more seat time.

Even when I was young and seat time was WORK, it was still fun. Sure did beat getting blisters with a hand hoe. I hated walking the bean fields hoeing weeds, but it was such a good feeling looking at clean fields when I got finished. My Grandpa was a tough boss to work for. You had to shake the dirt out of the weeds' roots, not just hoe them up.
