I have a L4400 and noticed small amounts oil under the tractor. I found one of the hydralic pipes partially crushed causing a small leak around one of the O rings. The part is called the pipe inlet in the hydraulic oil line assembly. My dealer suggested that i replace the pipe which I ordered. The pipe goes from the main reservoir to the filter, and has a 90 degree bend. I was able to get the old part out, but because the pipe is stiff and not flexible I cannot get the new piece in. I can get either end into their repective female receivers but not at the same time and as i said i cannot flex the pipe in position. Does anyone know how this is done? Do I need to loosen something else? (I have no idea what).

Some times you have to have both ends loose to get the threads started.

there are no threads, it is a compression fit with an O ring
