Yester years lot experimental design were offer in hopes they would catch on,today electronics devices help keep the row straight.

Back when I was a kid on the farm it was a matter of pride to be able to cultivate in a straight line and get the maximum coverage from the cultivator. I got quite good at it, very straight "rows", never missed anything and next to nothing for overlap pulling a 24 foot deep tillage cultivator.
