I noticed this picture on CL the other day and saved it. Looks like someone made a comb to clean the tines on a rake without getting off the tractor. I thought that would be handy if you were gathering roots and twigs and doing some serious raking. might even keep the tines straight while using it.
I would imagine you would retract the cylinder while raking then extend it to clean the tines.
Just thought it was a pretty good idea.

Good idea for twigs nd things. Does the whole rake looks homemade to you?

That looks like a good idea. Everyone that uses a landscape rake wishes at some point they had one of these add-ons. Whether it's factory or homemade it's useful I'm sure. Thanks for the post.

Or it could be used for grabbing the pile of sticks/rocks/ect and hauling them off after raking them up.

True, never thought of that, could be used like a thumb for the rake too but not sure the cylinder has enough extension.

It does look like it could be a DIY job, not a bad job if it was.

I saved that picture last week, but can't find the ad again, it was listed with several other implements.

Really like the idea. But hate the fact that it can't angle. Another thing it could be used for is when leveling a drive way to tear some dirt up kinda like rippers

I mostly burn brush with mine, and I noticed that blade won't rotate to use when backing up to a brushpile. Otherwise, it might be handy.

The 100 year old hay rake I have in my front yard has something similar to clear out the tines. Of course, it's not hydraulic!
