- JCB 2400B, and a 1969 JD 450 traxcavator
Hello, it's been ages since I've been here...just picked up another toy and I was wondering if anyone could give me some help identifying the tractor.
I bought this off a long time friend of mine who's been a HD repair man, welder, fabber, mechanic like me forever. He's done a ton of things to it to make it better over the years, such as all new hydro lines, repacked a few rams, threw the old generator away and put a one wire alternator on instead...built a nice heavy weight box that's removable with 4 pins so you can just swap over to the backhoe nice and easy.
It's got a 4 cyl. gas engine, it's a NEW crate engine because the previous owner before my buddy froze and cracked the block, hence the new engine. That's a strong point.
I didn't get the backhoe attachment home yesterday due to the schedule, but he reconditioned that as well. The bucket is rebuilt and lined like a 345 Cat bucket, he's a welder by trade so he over-killed that with hardface rod and all. It's a sight, lol.
Could anyone help me figure out what model this tractor is, and about what year possibly? He thought it was a 240 model, but not sure. I know the loader is a Henry, you can see the "H" in the frontal picture.
I took a pic of the engine ID tag, the loader ID tag, and there's numbers in the right side transmission housing too if they help.
I appreciate the help on this a lot.
