I am new to the community owning both a John Deere 318 and more recently, also a John Deere 317. The 317 has a Factory replaced Kohler engine. It was running great when I got it home but a week later, I couldn't start it. I've determined this is a gas problem as there is spark and I can start the engine with gas to the carb. I am planning on taking the fuel line off the fuel pump intake and checking to see if there is flow from the tank. Does this sound like the right approach or should I start at the tank?

PS: The JD317 was running for about a minute before it stopped. Now, it won't fire at all. I am thinking something clogged the gas line (debris?).
