Hello TractorByNet Forum,
I am newbie to machinery bigger than a riding mower. I am highly skilled with small engine repair, and most automotive repair excluding bodywork. However, I have never had the privilege of operating on a diesel engine. All my experience has been with Briggs & 2-cycle small engines. I have 40+ acres in the sticks and recently bought my first tractor this week. I have operated many different types of tractors throughout my life. Basically, I was given a set task and I completed it. Mainly using a rotary cutter or hauling hay, some general use of a front end loader. Now that I have my own piece of equipment, I have been crawling this forum for such things as "initial service", and "rotary cutter information". I first found this website when I was looking for repair information for my riding mower. I bought a used mower a while back and it was having PTO issues. Long story short, thanks to this forum I was able to plow through everything and the mower works like brand new now. I will be looking around the forum over the next week or so finding information about rotary cutters so I can purchase one to help take care of some area around my house. After that as the need or question arises I will be coming back for more information.
