Date built and serial number are all that matters, year sold and model year don't matter on tractors.

We have to have license plates and register tractors here, 3 tractors on the farm have a build year 1-2 years different than the registered "model year" on the registration.

I know one guy that has a 1988 CASE (not Case International) with white paint, case decals, that's 3 years AFTER case stopped selling white tractors!

Yeppers, the whole point of starting this thread was to try and determine year and build date. I accepted that my tractor is an 86 model, bought it in 88 but learned something here. Never have been able to determine the build date but, I guess that really doesn't matter.

Still looking for a 768 Loader for my baby. Don't really need one, I just want one. What can I say. Shrug. ;)

That's one reason I haven't parted with mine. Had mine (UCO2058) from somewhere around '91 and although I bought a new B7500 in 2002 and replaced that with a new L3200 in 2012, the little Ford is just too handy to part with. Sometimes it works well to have one implement on the Ford and another on the Kubota. So far any parts I needed, I could locate except the muffler. This past summer I replaced some front axle seals. The R1 tires aren't loaded and it always impresses people how scrappy the little thing is. When we get a decent snow, I'm on the Kubota and one of the other guys uses the Ford. Even though the Ford doesn't have a cab, they're still smiling when the run it.

On another subject - I couldn't find any horizontal mufflers to replace the original (rusted out). I went with a homebrew vertical setup. Made an adapter plate with a pipe 90, Cherry Bomb and exhaust flapper. If you or someone else needs a nice original stainless heat guard I have one that I don't need.

Have recently noticed a small axle (front) seal leak, will need to address that soon. Still looking for that Ford 768 loader. Found one but it's still on the 1210. The seller won't separate so, I'm considering buying the whole set up. Will have to sell one of my two autocross cars to get it. I quit auto crossing a few years ago so, the really competitive car is really just taking up space. That may not happen soon, selling something like it is a shot in the dark. But, that's the only way I'm going to be able to get another toy for my collection. Most likely, the 1210 with loader will be gone by the time I can sell that car. It is, what it is. :hissyfit:

Still haven't had a decent snow to play with the new (to me) snow blade. Was 10* when I got up this morning. Was going to work on putting some new LED lights on my Honda Valkyrie motorcycle but, it's a tad bit cool to be out there in the shop with no heat. Yeah, I know, I'm a wuss. It's really not fair that I was born with good looks, I'd much rather have that winning lottery ticket. ;)
