There are no listings for used Yanmars in the Japan section of Craigslist..weird.

Just was bored and curious, but none at all returned on a search in all the major cities.

They have deals setup with American buyes to buy hundred's at a time,
I think Do to their laws and regulations they cannot sell their used tractor in their own Country, they have feilds and feilds of them parked, so called out of commision simply because they do not meet their Gov's standard but yet still are in quite usable condition, at least this is what I am told

Apparently Craigslist isn't big in Japan. I searched Craigslist-Tokyo on 'sony' and 'samsung'. Surely a lot of that gear gets sold used. I got only one hit each, the same ad, from a US firm selling karaoke software.

Then I brought up all of Craigslist-Tokyo Farm&Garden. Over the past several weeks there are only five listings, all North Americans advertising stuff to the Japanese, plus one American living in Japan offering American-style Halloween pumpkins. "If you don't have a car, we'd be happy to meet you at Numata station with a selection of pumpkins ".

And I didn't find any Yanmars on Vietnam Craigslist either. Two 'sony' listings appeared, which I think verifies that I'm searching correctly.

I think you need to find some regional Equipment Trader - type websites.

Samsung is S. Korean and, ironically is the worlds largest company, (actually a conglomerate owning several companies).

In Japan they use Google adds....But don't expect any good deals. You can however see some nice tractors.

Unless things have changed, some of the used market is impacted by government subsidies given by the Japanese government. I'm not exactly sure how it went for tractors but when I lived there it went like this.

You buy a new car and go to the land tax office (ours was Yokohoma) for registration and inspection. Costs was about 1500 for Japanese national and only about 100 for us Americans. Now to Japanese rules. After that initial inspection, they had to return at the three year point for a reinspection of the vehicle. A very very thorough inspection. Mechnically the car had to be perfect and cosmetic's were the same. Approx cost for this three year inspection was about 3500-4000. At the six year point, the inspections made the cost of the vehicle just not worth it. New car purchased and start over. Plenty of good used cars for the foreign market. I believe a similiar program exist in some manner for tractors. A Japanese farmer just can't afford not to keep buying a new tractor. That leaves plenty of used ones. Also the Japanese culture just doesn't do a lot of "used" buying. Once again plenty of used equipment for the rest of us in the world.

Again, this may not still be true but was when I lived there. (1979-1982). Wish I would have gotten one when I was there!!!!
