Irrefutable imperical proof of how to handle snow

Buying snow removal equipment is like investing in a lack of snow. I moved to a ridge top over a year ago and have 1/4 mile of steep gravel driveway. Knowing I was in big trouble if I got stuck up here, I bought a Buyers plow and chains for my Kubota RTV-X900 before winter last year. Of course, it never snowed enough for use the first year. Finally, 14 months after purchase, it saw its first use with 12" of snow. Thanks to the wisdom shared on this site, I used a 2" steel pipe on the bottom of the blade and plowed everything without hardly moving any gravel. It was so easy, I plowed a path across the grass yard and down a hill we were using for sledding. I did not tear up any sod in the process. Great investment! Snow Dog resize small.JPG

The old homebrew plow was getting sketchy so I bought a brand new QA PA plow for the M and then sold the oldie.
It sat idle for about a month and I finally got a chance to use it this last week but now we have rain and the ice is thickening on the driveway:(
