Realize that the 2mm difference you are addressing here is a diameter difference. Thus only 1/2 of that difference is on a “side” if you will of the cylinder.
Think of a wheel/tire. A 33 inch tire mounted and inflated has an overall height of 33” from the ground. Now if you go to a 35” tire same mounted and inflated applies. It stands at 35” tall from the ground, but only 1” is to one side of the center of the axle.
Now back to your 82mm and 84mm bore. From the center of the bore only 1mm is is outside of the 82mm bore if gasket is centered perfectly.
If you do the math, 1mm equals 0.03973”. I doubt any of us could place a gasket that precisely.
