Backhoe Is a 2485 backhoe too big for a CK35?

Hey guys, I posted this question in the non brand specific section, then quickly realized it would be better suited here..

I'm looking into buying a new CK35 and I want a backhoe. Kioti recommends 2475 in the sales manual... but the dealer is trying to sell me the 2485 on it, saying it would be bigger and better.. I feel it may be overkill for the machine, considering it is for the DK series....

any input or experiences?

Hi Jasonsat. I think your gonna get different opinions, but comparing the woods bh80x and the 2485, both have real close specs and the bh80x is used with no problems on the ck30 and ck35. I may be wrong but I do not see where there would be a problem. I was thinking about adding the bh80x to my ck30 for the extra reach.

The 2485 is too big for a ck and your dumbass dealer should know that. Run don't walk away from that loser.unless he throws in the DK that supposed to be with it.

Murphy, Just for my own info because of what I am thinking of doing why would the 2485 be to big if the woods bh80x will work with almost the same specs?

There was a thread on here less than a year ago about a dealer putting a 2485 on a ck and breaking the machine. I forgot how it ended but if I were you I'd pass. Not worth it

I have a KB2375 on my CK30hst. If you're in hard ground, it will move the tractor around a good bit. If you're careful and just want the longer reach, you might be OK, but if something breaks, Kioti might not warranty the tractor. The KB2475 should be less expensive too.

Thanks for the input, reach is all I need. May be Jasonsat should have the dealer stay with a 2475 if power of 2485 could possibly Compromise the tractor.

Interesting... Im ordering a DS3510, I said I wanted the backhoe, and he said do you want to go down to the 2465 instead of the 2475, said it was $500 less, and in reality if you need that much more reach your gonna go for a full size backhoe/extend-a-hoe... at 0% financing over 60 months thats a whopping $8/month.. I said I will gow ith the bigger one, because if I dont I know at some point I will be jsut short and kicking myself...

Right. This is something people overlook. Many times people are concerned with pump GPM, digging depth, etc and think the tractor is just moving the backhoe from location to location and providing a hydraulic source. Backhoes, even medium sized ones such as this, can be brutal on the tractor without a proper frame distributing the forces and load. Even then, the tractor needs to be built to support it.
