Mowing Is a 7 ft dual spindle Bush Hog rotary cutter my best choice?

I would also go with the Woods. Where I grew up in Western PA, the ground hogs loved to make a pasture a bumpy mess. This meant slowing down and hitting a dirt mound every now and then. As others have said, the weight of the mower is split between your tractor's hitch and tail wheels while mowing, so I'd think your tractor is plenty capable of the extra weight.

I have a similar size tractor as yours and I use a 1600 lbs twin spindle 8' 3pt on mine, handles it well.

I bought a Woods MDS 8.30 eight foot dual spindle rotary cutter.

Spent about three hours cutting the pasture yesterday. Cuts great and the tractor handles it fine.
