I bought a 2001 3010 last june and now I have 115hrs on it. When I bought it I could lower the loader and the front wheels would be in the air for several days. Now when I do that I can come back the next day and the front end is on the ground. I also notice if I stand on the bucket (reguardless if in the air or on the ground) I can rock the bucket back and fourth, noticing the hydrolic cylinder moving back and fourth. Is this normal or do I need warranty work.... I talk to the dealer once and they tighten a bolt but it still the same. Any Ideas>>>>

actually this is a normal wear item, your cylinder sleeve seals will gradually wear out and need to be replaced, just remember when shutting the tractor down for the day it is better to lower all attachments then cycle the stick to neutralize pressure in the system. If you have a reason to leave the tires up it would be much better to use jackstands or blocking otherwise someone could geta body part crushed if they are messing with the loader controls..better safe than sorry

Not sure why you would want to leave your front end off the ground so long and putting pressure on your pistons etc..

When you rock the bucket back and fourth and the pistons moves, are talking 2 to 4 inches or 1/4 to half 1/2 inch..for you going to have tad of play in the float stage plus your bucket.

The FEL on my 2001 L3000DT did move like you said when the tractor was not running and the loader was down on the ground. I wonder if this was normal and several others said that it was, don't remember the total reason why.

I did notice a leak in one of the lift cylinder seals, which the dealer fixed as a warrantee item. I haven't checked to see if the movement is still there since it was fixed. When I am done with the tractor I lower the FEL turn off the tractor, then move the FEL control to release internal pressures in the system.

I shut down my FEL system as YOUARE says. Standard stuff, lower bucket and release hydraulic pressure. I'm perplexed by the wheels in the air routine. Sure would seem to be a load on the hydraulics. Whatever, I checked out my L3410 today (LA 482 loader) - no play in the system, even with me standing on the bucket edge - such will undoubtedly loosen up as the cylinders wear - I've only about 60 hours on the rig.
