I'm getting accustomed to my new (to me) 2540 tractor which I absolutely love. When I move the 3-point lift lever up, the arms "jerk" up quickly, even if I barely move the lever. I know about the adjustment knob below the seat for the 3-point lowering, but I'm not aware of any adjustment for raising speed. I also noticed a small 3-point plastic knob at the bottom of the seat that seems to just free wheel -- I thought it might be some kind of seat adjustment?

I don’t have a great answer for you other than I used to have the same issue and now I don’t. I assume it’s 90% me and a little bit of air and new valves etc in the hydraulic system.
I have a HEAVY box scraper on my 1538 and it was all over the place when I hit the lever. Now it seems to be smooooooth!

Good luck and enjoy the new toy/machine!!

In some tractors, the lever is sort of harder/jerky to move to raise the 3PT when new [ 'drag' is usually adjustable ]. The slower you can move the lever, the slower it will usually raise. You will probably just have to concentrate on the lever movement for some time to get the hang of it. After some use, it might become more loosy-goosy, and easier to move slower. Sorry....
