I used to stay up later just to watch the first half of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Some of the guests were cumbersome so I avoided the second half but I used to like the monologue, Headlines, dumb criminals, etc. As I understand it, his market was older people that were mostly conservative. The new Tonight Show baffles me because it seems one of us is out of touch.

While I really liked Jimmy Fallon on Sat night Live and in such movies as "Fever Pitch", I feel lost in the new Tonight Show and wonder if it's because I'm just out of step. Should I just move on, switch channels and realize my advancing age has taken me out of the loop or am I missing something? Maybe it's them and not me?

So in a nutshell, is the Tonight Show winding down or ramping up? Sink or swim?

I also like Jimmy Fallon. But, I also believe the Tonight Show now seems to boring and low energy. I actually prefer Conan O'Brien.

I think the Tonight Show, as is, does not have long to go. Plus, the move to New York was not smart in my opinion.

Should have left it Conan the first time and been done with it.

Give the guy a chance. Jimmy Fallon is a pretty talented and very funny guy. He has to decide how much of the Leno format to keep but I'd give him a while to settle in before giving up.

I have watched several times now with Jimmy.. Sorry, not blowing my skirt up..I think it will have a run, but don't think it will last.

Because Jimmy Fallon has a fair amount of musical talent, he tends to lean toward musical guests. I've enjoyed all of the hosts' monologs, although was never crazy about Conan. Over the years, the audience has changed and the market has many more choices/competitors in that time slot. I doubt there will ever be the same "king of late night" like Johnny Carson.

So James..no tingles down your leg either....? ;)

Not too many so far Bob!:) I may tune in another time and give him another chance, but so far, not so good.

Never watched ahole Leno after he screwed O'Brien. Watched Fallon for a week but that was my limit. IMO Kimmel is the best followed closely by O'Brien. Letterman is just phoning it in.
