I've got a farm where the trails and roads all have cutbanks and steep offsides, and there's enough brush to require something I can run off the back end of my Kubota 4330. I'm thinking a modern version of the sickle bar mower, perhaps a hydraulic unit. I've got the rear mount aux. hydraulics, so that parts covered.
I looked into a rotary cutter for my old Bobcat X231 excavator, but they want 8 grand for it-that's nuts !!
I recollect seeing and even operating something like this years ago on an old Ford 8N. It was about 8 or 10 feet long, ran off rear pto and had a series of belts and pulleys always needing adjusting. Noisy old thing we used to cut hay with. Would rather find a commercial unit than try to adapt or fabricate one.
Any suggestions or ideas are welcomed. Thanks.
