Chemtool and their competitors have OTHER plants. Even ones in Sarnia Canada, the petro capital in Canada.
I live within the 5-mile zone of the Chemtool plant, it's been a hard time out here. Even talked with the IL-EPA taking samples on my back country road at the stateline.

Didn't realize Lubrizol bought Chemtool until I read about the fire (that you posted on the other forum, I'm there as well...lol).. Sure is a mess and I bet it stinks too.
Won't impact me, I buy my grease in 150 pound drums (have an air greaser) and I do that every other year. Hopefully, I can get Berryman's Chemtool carb dip and cleaner.

Berryman's is in Arlington, TX. Absolutely no connection between their B12 Chemtool branded products and the grease manufacturer Chemtool, just a coincidence in names.

Hey bmaverick! I hope they have the fire contained,& I'm sure there will be long term environmental effects, & that's scary having that happening in your back yard . I'm sure that this will have a short term affect on the supply chain & may have short term affect on prices on the retail level as well,& as usual all this will be passed on to the consumer

I saw that the earlier fire fighting efforts (local response?) included applying some 3600 gallons of foam laden with PFAS/PFOS forever chemicals, which was probably pretty pointless given how hard the fire was raging at the time anyway. 3600 gallons of PFAS is going to impact the local groundwater substantially, forever. Sad.
Presumably the fire crew from the gulf used a shorter chain surfactant foam, but the long term health impact is still questionable.
Anyone on well water in the vicinity better start sampling and testing their water ASAP. I hope none of it flowed directly into the rock river.

I lived right in the fallout zone of Tchernobyl back in the 80's, we have really high occurrences of cancer of various sorts back home in Norway for the last few decades. Lost two cousins to cancer in their early 30's. Now I have two other diagnosed with various forms.

That's a good thing. Must be some sort of relationship. The word 'Chemtool' is a registered trademark. Berryman's is good stuff btw. Use their carb dip in my ultrasonic cleaner and their aerosol canned cleaner as well.
