So I bought myself a hydraulic top link and noticed yesterday after I broke the eye off that there is a support inside where the pin holds the eye that is welded in the wrong spot. I see there is a limit switch on the left side of the back of the tractor . Limit switch, cam to activate the switch and a little screw to rotate the cam .
I thought it was for a lift adjustment but its not because when I make the switch manually the lift level still works to operate the 3 PH up and down.
I checked the switch with a meter and it works fine.

After I removed all the leaves and composted leaves from the 3 point hitch level area I see a butterfly stop nut .
. Loosen it slide to where you want it to stop and lock it again.
Now the lift level will only lift to 5. But the lift level is not correct as the lift doesn't even start to lift until 3-4 and at 5 its too low to lift an implement .
At 5 the lift pulses up and down shaking the tractor .
So my plan is to remove the welded part so things will clear again .
But what is the limit switch for.

Next thing will be the draft control setup that is noe used on this tractor.
Pics to follow.

The switch stops the PTO from turning when engaged. This is controlled by a dash switch to shut off the pto to the implement upon full up of the arms if needed.

Right,,, I knew that too!! Now I might get some sleep tonight.

I am making some head way with the knowledge on the Draft control.

There is a spacer that is installed at factory to stop the draft control use.

I do not believe you have draft control on the 4720 unless it is possibly an overseas tractor.

On my 2400H the instructions are to move the control lever to max height and then adjust the lift control rod so that you can still lift the arms approx 1/2". This provides full lift height and also provides a little leeway so that the arms never bottom out and keep the system at full pressure. On mine this adjustment is on the right side. Not sure where it is located on the 4720.

I would also like to know if this adjustment feature is on my 3510i....
When I raise the arms all the way, the hydraulic pump dead-heads (pressure relief screams)

Here is a couple of pages from my service manual. Hopefully these pages will be worth a 1,000 words. Item 4 is the feed back rod which on the 2400 is located on the right side.

SWAG: Yours may be too tight. Lift thinks it's in a bind like lifting more than it's capabilities so the over pressure valve is whistling at you. I looked at my 2400 today and if you look at the rod that go through the tractor frame and the lower (arms that connect to the implement) lift arms right in the center is a bolt with a lock nut. May be what old is talking about. I'd have to be standing next to the unit to understand what the manual is saying.

I don't have squealing and as stated, you can put the arms all the way up hydraulically and then grasp the end of an arm and pull up slightly before it stops moving up, indicating slack.

My 3510i doesn't have any adjustments. Just an adjustable friction on the lever itself.
