Is there any way to quote quoted material when using "reply with quote"?

Is there a way to get what is between the html tags in a "reply with quote"?

Presently it seems the forum software discards anything wrapped in html quote tags.

Thus some members are posting stealth quotes, using color tags to insert their writing into previous posts. Thus to accurately quote their message one must go back and cut and paste.

For example if one does "reply with quote" to this post the text:

Yes, you can stack quotes: [ quote ] outer [ quote ] inner [ / quote ] outer [ / quote ] (remove spaces and change to capitals for "quote"

I know that.
But for example I clicked reply with quote to your message and all it quoted is what's above
instead of:

And I don't have to

capitalize the q in quote.

I think you're asking how to quote the person you're replaying to, AND get any quotes that they may have made in the post that you are replying to, correct?

When you hit reply with quote it will quote what the person wrote, not the quote they were replying to, that you will have to copy/paste manually. That is a royal pain when someone has 15 lines of colored text replies inside someone else's quote...

When you hit reply with quote it will quote what the person wrote, not the quote they were replying to, that you will have to copy/paste manually. That is a royal pain when someone has 15 lines of colored text replies inside someone else's quote...

Yep. You can just highlight the whole post, CTRL+C to copy, reply to post, CTRL+V to paste, then put as many quotes as you want in there with the brackets and quote /quote and make it look anyway you want.

One way is to use the "view post" to go to the original, then use the "multi-quote" to pick it and the secondary message.
