With the knowledge of so many on TBN I'm wondering if there is a source for tractor sales reporting?
What kind of reporting ? Well you see category reporting by auto manufacturers or industry reporters often. I would think the tractor industry must have something similar. As an example: wouldn't it be interesting to see year 2015 sales of sub compacts for each brand in U.S. sales ? And another listing for small category compacts and another one for large category compacts etc. etc..
Now some might ask "why would this be important" ? And my answer is . . . to avoid dealer bluff or advertising confusion. And because acquiing a tractor is a financial decision.
Lets say you are looking at the sub compact market for a tractor and there are 7 or 8 or 10 brands for sale in the U.S.. Hype about worldwide sales really isn't the issue . . Its about U.S. sales to determine continuing dealer growth or participation going forward in the U.S.
Again to focus on reasoning . . let's say Kubota sales of bx product were xxx in 2012 and then rising slowly in each year since throughout the U.S.. But thatbreporting might show Massey sub compacts in 2012 being a number that doubles in 2013 and continues to increase each year to current. That tells us more than just competitor numbers . . It also shows growth of the general.market but also marketshare changes. It also shows either greater dealer development by 1 maker over another OR changes in acceptance of new product offerings in models etc.. These numbers also might reflect future dealer sustainability.
Lastly numbers reported over a few years would show category strengths or declines. Obviously farm category sales would shiw a rise until 2013 and then a considerable drop off while in utility tractors or compacts and sub compacts you would see different trends.
So brand reporting would be beneficial by year sold and categoru.
Is John Deere still the big brand or Kubota still the big success in sub compacts . . or do the numbers show others are catching up or evrn reducing the big names? Because Mahindra advertises it is the largest selling tractor brand in the world . . does that mean much to would be U.S. buyers if so much of those sales are in India ? Is Branson doing better or just clinging to life as TYM acquires them. Numbers mean alot more tgan just bragging rights . . they would show who is coasting and who is building and in what categories are the successes really changing ?
So anyone have any clues how this type of info might be found ? Is itbreadily available ?
