Where did you get that number?

New Hampshire state excise tax on gasoline is 18 cents per gallon. There is another 2.6 cents per gallon for "other" taxes mainly for fuel pollution related stuff. That comes to 20.6 cents per gallon total for gasoline. The state excise and "other" taxes on diesel fuel are the same as gasoline.

FYI, the federal tax on gasoline is 18.4 cents per gallon and on diesel fuel it is 24.4 cents per gallon. Add that to the total state taxes and you will get the total tax paid per gallon of fuel.

Off road unleaded is delivered here just like off road diesel. The only difference is that the off road unleaded is dyed purple, like the off road diesel is dyed red. Whenever I had a mowing business I used to get it delivered along with off road diesel. It was about 40 cents a gallon less expensive than at the pumps.

I'm not sure, I was buying gas from a private card system that itemized the taxes on the statement. That was 5 years ago. Fuzzy math I guess. Thank you for the correction. MikeD74T

Marina gas might be untaxed, but is aparently blended with gold! I take my own gas to the lake and gladly pay the tax,

Right, but it is really no inconvenience if you trailer your boat. Just fill up the tanks while the others are getting ice and drinks and such. It is a convenience for the ones that dock their boats at the marina though.
