Is this a "Full" Synthetic?

Chevron Delo® 400 Synthetic SAE 0W-30, 5W-40

SAE Grade 0W-30 and 5W-40
Product Numbers 235195 and 235194

It says that they are 100% synthetic; is that the same as "Full Synthetic".

The MSDS says "Distillates, hydrotreated heavy paraffinic"

If it sais 100% then it's 100%. Just depends on what Group of synthetic is in the blend. It is probably a blend of synthetic Group III base stock (which is severely hydroprocessed and made from crude oil but has it's molecular structure changed so it is considered a synthetic) and synthetic Group IV base stock. The advantage of dino based synthetic's (Group III) is that they more easily disolve additives into the blend than Group IV and V do. Group IV and V base stocks usually need alot of different additives to disolve and hold other additives in suspension. The line between Group III dino based base stocks and Group IV and V is starting to blur more every year as technology advances.

In short, Delo 400 synthetic is a good oil. One interesting thing I noticed when I looked up the MSDS's for the two different weight's is that the 0W/30 did NOT list "Distillates, hydrotreated heavy paraffinic" while the 5W/40 does.

In your estimation, how does the Delo 5W-40 Synthetic measure up against Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5w-40?

From the UOA's I have seen over the years it performs well in extended drain interval applications and holds it's weight against M1 TDT.
