Good price, especially so with saftey chains. Really good mower. The 286 is still produced but there is a 296 also. A more "modern", streamlined version. Many are electing to pay the extra to get the 296, making the 286 a slow mover. Not sure I'd spend the extra. The 286 is a really fine piece of equipment.
I've owned a 286 for 4 seasons. It's spent time in heavy commercial mowing use. Never a whimper. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
