Homier Distributing Company

https://www.homier.com/

I was going to buy a 5 ft. finish mower from them but now I want to wait and see what other people have to say about this company.

Concensus has been that it's loud as **** (transmission noise I assume) and that the rubber (belts/tires) is of dubious quality, but that the cheap price (and some grease in the tranny) somewhat offset those shortcomings.

Can't help but wonder though, what the final price will be after the belts and tires are replaced.

I've never heard of this outfit but afterchecking the website I'm definately saving it. Most of the stuff looks pretty low end but throwaway tools do have a place. When I was working const. I always carried some "loaner" tools in my truck.

Terry, Homier used to come to our little town twice a year with tractor/trailer loads of stuff and set up shop, just for the weekend, in the town's rodeo/convention center and did a booming business. My brother & I usually went and we've bought a number of things from them. But I would never buy anything that cost more than I could afford to throw away next week. I bought a bench grinder that worked for about 10 minutes, and I eventually got part of my money back (not all). Both my brother and I bought "identical" 4" vises. Mine lasted just fine; his broke the second time he used it. I bought a "reconditioned" 18 gauge brad gun that worked just fine, some snap ring pliers that were useless the first time I tried to use them, etc., etc. There are some good deals, but they make Harbor Freight look like the Cadillac of the tool industry. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Terry,
You are just across the mountain from me. I'm in Dunlap.
Cummins Tools will be here for one of their truckload sales on Saturday.
Their stuff is nearly identical to Homier Distributing.
It wouldn't suprise me if they were the same business.
You could drive across the mountain and check out their stuff in person.
I didn't see any farm implements in their flier.

My opinion is their stuff is almost as good as Harbor Freight.
I got a flier in the mail today from both places.
I'm looking for a set of big drill bits. 3/4, 7/8, 1 inch.
8 piece Silver and Deming Drill Master HSS
9/16 to 1 inch with 1/2 inch shanks and storage box.
Cummins Tools news flier says $39.99
Harbor Freight news flier says $22.99

Homier implements that I have seen on ebay look cheaply made to me.

8 piece Silver and Deming Drill Master HSS 9/16-1"

I purchased this set of drill bits from Harbor Freight in 2001 for 21.99, expecting it to be typical harbor freight quality. I must have drilled over 1000 holes, mostly in 1/2 & 5/8 steel & they are still going strong. I think it must be the best buy I ever made at harbor freight.

Awesome to here. I just bought that set about 4 weeks ago and am going to use them in a Landscaping rake IMatch conversion. Do you sharpen them yourself? Very glad to see this note!

BTW - another item that is nice that Homier sells is the $15 mobile base. I am using one on my Dewalt Planer - made a table to fit the base. Very good buy! I am about to convert the second Homier base I bought into a small mobile welding table.

I'm not surprised to read this. I've bought a lot of stuff from Harbor Freight from sockets to O-ring kits to compressors etc. and have had very good luck with nearly everything. I never thought the quality would be as good as it has been.

The Homier stuff looked cheaper than most of what I've bought at HF, but there were some things that looked...ok.

OK so one more WW comment. I own the HF 2HP dust collector and added teh Wynn environmental 1 micron cannister. I love this dust collector. For hobby shop it works great. I have about $220 invested in it with the Wynn and I find it works as well or better than my buddys cannister Jet model he paid $550 for!

Just another plug for a great HF tool!!

Terry, I have never dealt with this company but have read lots of reference to them in this forum. I am planning on buying a wood chipper from them through one of their dealers here in New England. If their quoted price for the Chinese Chipper doesn't change when their next shipment comes in and we work out the logistics of picking it up I plan on getting one. The Chinese Chipper has been talked about a lot so I'm hoping the one from Homier is the same as the other ones offered through China Best Products, other tractor dealers, and eBay sales.
