I have de reocked , smoothed, and tilled. I did it this weekend so I could see how the water from the storms moving through the next couple days moves, ponds, washes out, etc for final grading.

After I have it graded again I'll till it one more time and remove the rest of the rocks. By end of week I plan to plant Buckwheat as a green manure, till that in at 10 weeks or a day or 2 after flowering, which ever comes first, then plant some other low growing green manure plant that will go till mid September, till that in and let it rest for a few weeks. Early October lightly till in aged manure and 24-25-4 and plant Tall Fescue.

I'm on the fence about using a roller or a very light dicing with a lawn tractor pulled disc. Suggestions?

I'm also undecided about any mulching or covering right after seeding.

What grass do you want for your lawn? Have you done a soil test to make sure the grass will grow well there? Right now is getting close to ideal planting time, and for Bermuda, what I want, you just broadcast the hulled seed and add water. In a couple of months you will have a lawn.

Tall Fescue grows here, That is what was previously there. That got totally trashed by work from a frozen water line this winter. I know this a really good time to start but it is also the best time for weeds to start too. Planting cover crops this summer will help to break up the soil, I'm in the bottom of a hollow composed of clay and limestone.

This what it looked like Yesterday

There is a creek to the right of this that that water should be going into....

Instead of the creek it is going into the front yard, right into the field lines.

Once this dries up, I have some serious grading to do before planting anything.

Seeing how lush and thick everything is there, I bet you don't even need to plant seed to get a lawn. It's gonna happen anyway!!!! Good luck with the dirt work. You sure do have a lot of standing water.

Something will grow for sure if I do nothing. Truth is that in over 50 years I've never had a real nice grass lawn, I figure it is about time.
