Dealer quoted $22,500.00 plus tax for a 2520 with a 200CX loader and a 46 backhoe. I live in Washington state about 30 miles from the dealer, so I will pick it up and save the $200 delivery charge.

Thanks for any input, I'm ready to buy and want to know if I should shop around more.

I almost bought a 2520 so I got a couple of quotes with just the 2520, R4 tires and 200CX loader. The quotes (central Ohio) ranged from $15,100 to $15,600. Perhaps if your quote breaks out the tractor/loader/backhoe separately this will help. Good luck - it's a fine tractor.

Per the JD website it looks like your setup (standard buckets, no ballast box, etc.) is $24,152 before tax, setup, delivery, etc. That's about a 9% discount off of MSRP.

If it were me I'd be calling around to other dealers in the area for a price comparison.

Additionally - they are really going to charge you $200 to deliver your new, $20K+ tractor when you live 30 miles away? That might be enough to make me balk right there...

I'd say there's at least another $1K to be saved (that would be a 12% discount). Of course, that depends on the dealers in your area.

Good luck!
