is this a good price for a york rake....

On craigslist there is an 84 inch York rake in like new condition for 1400...is that a decent price...I have a jd 4520. That will fit it ok ..I'm I correct??? Thx guys

Sounds high to me for used. You can get a nice HD landpride with gauge wheels new for about that.

There are many models of York (brand) Rakes, with many add-on options. Your opening post does not tells us much.

Have you been to the York Modern web site? MSRPs for all models are listed.

Rakes are mostly utilized on an angle, therefore, ideally, you want a rake somewhere around 12" wider than your tire track. If rake is a good price but a little too wide, you can used it with more angle to compensate.

I think I actually looked at that exact rake, it's an RW84 with gauge wheels and is in like new condition and runs almost $1900 with the gauge wheels. It's a cat1 hitch but doesn't have offset. Here's the picture from Craigslist.

. A few years ago I picked up a used but in new condition 72'' rake for $500.00. They are out there I would keep looking.

I don't know the pricing on York rakes. I have a Woods that I very happy. having said that, I think the York brand (their original model-again, sorry I don't know the product code) is the best rake out there-but you'll pay for it.
