At least she had enough tractor to control the trailor load when going down a steep grade.. A .B series tractor or an ATV would use a lot less fuel though. Let it be HER idea or you will never get her out of the M85 and you will be driveing the CUT.

I think I will get her a dump trailer ( her idea ) and share the tractor. I really can't afford / justify another tractor.

The only time any piece of equipment ( or kids ) are " mine " is when there broken. She likes the M85 better than the old 245 DT we use to have.

I think she would like the M8540 if I can ever find the time to teach her to drive it. We took the pull type rotary cutter off for the winter, so this may be a good time to let her learn how to operate it. She has back problems and had to quit using anything with a foot clutch which our CX80 had, but with the hydraulic shuttle, she should be able to do OK and the foot clutch is a LOT easier to use than the one on our Case too.

I had a heck of a time breaking myself from using the foot clutch when we first bought it as I had 12 years on our Case CX80 with synchro shuttle, but finally got use to it. It sounds like we use ours about the same as it seems as though I have a little more precise control with the foot clutch. For everything else I use the clutch on the column.

Yes, for the most part, I still forget and use the foot clutch from time to time, but rarely. My left leg is partially paralyzed and I have had to clutch with my right foot for years, so the hydraulic shuttle shift is really nice. You should have seen me on our CX80 backing a 10' pull type rotary cutter down a steep slope to mow next to the pond, or worse running back and forth across the levy with the pond on one side and drop off on the other; talk about a flurry of activity in that cab.:laughing:
