Whats the model? I think its the 1560 or is it a 2560 with a sub 80 s/n but want to be sure since the parts seem to be different sizes for different models of the same cutting width.

Just bought this for a pretty good price of CL. It has NEVER been used but sat outside for a few years. I don't know why the engineers at Landpride thought that putting a sticker that lists the model and serial # on the same sticker was a great idea espicially since the only thing that faded on the sticker were those numbers! Is there a hidden stamped location as well?

Anyways, after looking at the manuals posted online this is what I think it is. But am unsure since the manuals also show those airtunnel models in the same manuals but tried to figure it out based upon the gearbox as it has the smaller square one.

The belt looks fine but I want to change the gear oil what weight should I use?

Any help is appreciated.

OK after a better look at the specs this is a 2560 which is even better but still there are multiple variations on those models so back to the books.

Other than the rust, it does look practically new since it never got used. Good deal, and even better that it matches your bota! Can't help you with the model number, but good luck with it.

I Actually that brown stuff on top isn't rust its dried leaves and dirt. I think I did good for less than $300

Beware..... a new belt for mine was $75.:mad:

Looks in nice shape...... you did well !

My gearbox was changed over to grease, but I'd say any heavy gear oil, like 80 90 will be fine.

$75?!? Now you tell me.

I thought all of the gear boxes used gear oil? I don't quite see how grease would keep it lubed and cool, but I'm intrigued.

I paid the asking price...

I scoured the auto parts stores (not the chain stores) looking for a belt, thinking they would be more affordable. I forget how long the belt is.... but Gates and a couple other manufacturers made nothing near long enough according to the parts guys. Went to the local LandPride dealer and they had one in stock..... it hurt, but at least they had one.

Grease is frequently used in gearboxes that have leaky seals. Cheaper and easier than buying and changing seals. Works fine, but I'd use gear oil in mine if it would stay in there. Unfortunately it won't ..... so the grease stays for now.

I know lots of landscapers run grease in the gearbox on their $10,000 walker mowers, as the seals quit early in the game & gear oil just leaks out?

I learn something every day. I guess there is an alternative to my bush hog leaking all of its gear oil every two months.

Check the internet. I found a belt for my landpride for $12.74 plus shipping. You just need to know the size of the belt not the landpride part number.
Vbeltsupply.com It was a total of $23.74 to my door.
