Might not need anything else to mount it but you will need hydraulic power from some where. Call them and tell them what you have and if they know if your machine is compatible.

Definitely wouldn't buy sight unseen, looks like they are in the same state. maybe you could bring someone in the know with you to look at it.

Good luck JB.

JB, Yes it's in the same state, but on the opposite end and TN is a long state. I'm just starting to look and I don't know much about 3 pt backhoes. I learned a little from the links that Brad posted.
One of the guys posting said the hoe would break your tractor if it was only mounted to the 3 point hitch. If that's the case I'll probably have to wait. I can't afford 5 or 6 thousand dollars right now.

They are junk. For not much more money you can get a Taylor Made and its a great BH for the money. There is a guy selling them in KY right on the Ohio River about a hour east of Cincy. He does not have any on Ebay right now but it would be a day drive for you to pick up. Maybe 3-4 hours each way. Keep a eye out for one.

What to do? I am always debating whether to buy a back hoe, rent one or get an expert in.
I would love to own one. Lots of projects out there that need 1/2 hr use of a back hoe. The truth for me though is that for my last two projects which called for a back hoe I would have made a mess of it. One was land clearance. The young man that did the job was finished in a day. Trees were removed and the earth shaken back into the hole. The other job required digging a ditch through the woods that would then drain into a pond. I would never have got the levels right and probably have damaged the machine trying to get between the trees.

The other point is that I dont think these smaller machines can really cut through large roots etc

This summer I will probably rent a light weight machine for some smaller jobs but get a professional in to do the more difficult jobs.
