I have a John Deere Z710A zero turn mower that I purchased new from the dealer a year and a half ago. Several months ago I received a package with a valve and a few other parts, along with instructions how to remove the fender and old parts and install these new pieces and put it back together, that will make my mower safer and not leak fuel in the event of a roll over. If it was a car, it would be called a recall, and would be returned to the dealer for service. Is this the way all tractor manufactures work (I have several Kubota tractors and have never had a recall issue) to save them money or is this just a John Deere money saving idea. I feel as if I paid enough for the mower that this shouldn't be my problem to install, but maybe I don't know how tractor dealers work. I have felt the dealership has been fair with me in any business I have done with them, and this isn't something they sent me. It was from "corporate" John Deere.

I had a Kioti CK25 and the loader had a problem with cracks. The dealer was sent the new parts and he offered to come out and fix it. I stopped by the dealership and picked up the parts and fixed myself, but he would have come out to the house and done it.

Maybe call the dealer and ask him about it. It may have been sent to you in error and should have been sent to him.

I did speak to a service man about it and he called it "dealer assist" and to give it a try, and if I ran into problems give them a call!

Why not try this, send the letter back without the parts and tell them your 75 with 1/2 of a hand. Now what do you want me to do with the parts you send me. The nickle should be on them.

When I have time and think it next in my list of priorities I will do it. Until then the box and parts will stay on a shelf. I just wonder why John Deere doesn't say bring it in or have a service man do the job when he is on the road. It came in the winter so they would know we wouldn't be out mowing with it. It seams like a cheap money saving idea, and when comparing John Deere service with what I have received with Kubota their standard is lower.
