The length of the gash is 1 inch. I can see water coming out of it.
Can I patch it using the coventional method or patch it from the inside?

I would check on having it vulcanized.

I was afraid of that. :(

It's going to cost me around $300

$80 to come get the tire
$80 to come and install it.
$150 to vulcanize it....

This sucks...
I have to think twice next time when I let my neighbor borrow the tractor.

why not post the pic so it's easier to see.... i'll do it for ya.

now.. that said?

me? I'd tube it and stick a patch on the inside to protect the tube.

bet it costs you less than 50$ for the dismount, patch, tube and remount.

or 30$ if you do the work yerself.

I always use a boot or patch on the inside of a tire to protect a tube..

Where do you live? I have to agree with Soundguy. I'd have someone come out and put a tube in the tire. I'm thinking in my area it'd be close to $100 for the call and tube, but I know it wouldn't be $300.

I don't have the experience most of the folks here do, but....

I would try tire plugs first - no downside if it doesn't work...

I have plugged gashes that size in vehicle tires in the past - once even in the sidewall (not very safe I know - but young and poor - had to make do). I was always surprised how 2-3 plugs in a row actually worked. I would assume results would be similar with a tractor tire

The other suggestions would be the proper fix - but may be worth shot...
