Just got through digging and washed off my new to me B21 and noticed a pin on the hoe looks like it moved out about a half inch. I've noticed it move out before when I greased it and I just tapped it back in, now I'm thinking it may be broken, if it is broken is this a common failure?

Release the hydraulic pressure on the BH ram and put a vice grip on the pin and twist and pull, if the other end moves it's not broken.

Look at the pic, the other side is in place ok and the pin lock screw looks to be in place, I just didn't know if this was a two part pin and it was normal for one side to move some.

The bolt in the picture with the two nuts should be holding the pin in place. It looks like on your picture, I can just see the other end of the pin. Either the bolt holding the pin is broken or the pin is broken. The pin is probably broken or otherwise the bolt would have fallen out. Just remove the bolt with the double nuts and then drive the pin out. It should come out easily if there is no pressure on the pin. Or just pull the pin out if there is enough to grab.

Chances are you now have a two piece pin. When driving it out make sure you use a drift the can stay in place and make it easier to replace the pin.:D

Thanks, I figured it was broken, just wanted to make sure before I took it apart, how much do new pins cost? Should a dealer have this in stock?

I sure as heck would get the new pin first and us it to drive the broken one out. I bet if you drive that one out first it will difficult to install the new one.
