My 2020 Kioti CX2510 compact tractor started stalling last week and it became progressively worse over a few days until it would not run at all. The fuel sediment filter looked like it was packed with pink grease. I removed it and I from what I can find on the internet, this is what gelling looks like.
I have used dyed off road diesel from a busy local truck stop, and have treated with opti-lube xpd at the winter ratio of 2.5 oz per 5 gallons.
The fuel in the tank looks fine.
I drained the tank and it all came out fine, but I did notice what appears to be black pitting along many sections of the metal tank on the inside. (I used one of those flexible fiberoptic cameras to examine the inside of the tank).
I keep the tractor in my garage which stays well above freezing, probably in the upper 40痴 to upper 50痴 most of the winter.
I'm attaching photos, so hopefully I'll do it correctly.
I知 wondering if this is indeed gelling. If so, why did it happen, and why only at the sediment filter?
Is the pitting in the tank normal?
What should I do to get up and running again?
